Just got my first iPad and the procreate app. Buzzing to get started and be creative

Thought it was a new feature announcement. But love the program, I use it for all my animations.

That's not 'easy' in my mind, rather it's a common method. I thought this would be an anouncement of a new feature I thought about before. It's like you can write text and it then records it like a timelapse on a new track. Also with moveable sides of the recorded clip to adjust the speed of the playback. Would be nice, but y'all prolly working hard on other features alrdy! Keep it up ❤

What if you want the mask to be inverted and so it’s what’s outside of the shape that is available to paint, and the inside shape isn’t affected?

Depending on preference, alpha lock and clip mask is kinda interchangeable. They do the same thing but works differently. I personally would prefer using the clip mask layer to do modification, and confirm it by merging it to the lower layer when I'm done, but that's two more steps than using alpha lock right away, which could be tedious if you need to use it a lot. That's said, do not abuse alpha lock/clip mask. They tend to make the art look overly clean and lifeless, and often times spilling the detail slightly over the edge can made the art look more natural and hand-painted. Definitely experiment with things a bit rather than going for the most efficient approach right away, when coming to art creation.

Poor tutorial, too general. I already got stuck in the first few steps when the pressure of my Apple Pencil was not quite the same as demonstrated. I ended up finding many other good tutorials on UA-cam than this one.
